Lawrence Jacobs
Lawrence (Larry) Jacobs has more than 30 years’ experience representing local businesses in a wide range of matters, including business transactions, contracts and employment law. He is frequently asked to consult on management and marketing issues and has acquired a reputation as an excellent problem-solver.
As a natural outgrowth of meeting the needs of business owners, and in order to better serve the needs of his individual clients, Larry expanded his practice to include estate planning. Over the last 15 years, he has helped hundreds of couples and singles protect their families and control the disposition of their assets through carefully-crafted documents.
A longtime advocate for civil rights, Larry was in appointed to the Montgomery County Human Relations commission in 1995 and became Chair of the Commission in 2000. Passionately interested in the well-being of students, he co-founded the Safe Schools Coalition of Montgomery County in 1995. He is a Board member and past president of Equality Maryland. He is also a member of the Board of The Metropolitan Center for the Visual Arts (VisArts).
Larry is also a licensed real estate broker in Maryland. He has lived in many different areas of Montgomery County during the last 35 years.
Jonathan Lanyi
Jonathan Lanyi joined our firm as an associate in 2008 and is currently a member of the Maryland Bar.
Jonathan is a graduate of the George Washington University with a degree in International Affairs with a focus of study in International Economics. Jonathan also earned a Certificate of Business from University of Virginia’s McIntire Business Institute. He obtained his law degree from Syracuse University College of Law. Jonathan is in the process of being admitted to the District of Columbia Bar and applying for the Virginia Bar.
Jonathan has significant experience in the area of taxation. He served as a student attorney for the Syracuse University Low Income Taxpayer Clinic. He has also served as a Tax Consultant for the Community Tax Law Project in Richmond, Virginia. Jonathan also served as a Site Manager for the Baltimore Cash Campaign, where he was responsible for managing the production of tax returns for low-income residents of Baltimore.
Jonathan speaks, reads and writes Spanish proficiently and been active in the Spanish-speaking community. He served as a Site Manager for Casa de Maryland, where he assisted low-income people with the preparation of income tax returns and other tax-related issues.
